【摘要】:Thistechnicalspecificationisapplicabletoflat,solidnon-metallicspecimensofmaterialsusedinelectrotechnicalproducts.Thismethodisnotapplicabletothetestingofnon-flatproductssuchasinsulatedwiresandcables,asitisnotpossibletoobtainasatisfactorydistributionofheatfluxwithsuchproducts.Thismethodmaynotbeapplicableformaterialswhichmeltandflowawayfromthedirectimpingementofheatfluxanddonotgiveasmokeemission,whichisrepresentativeofcurrentknowledgefromrealfiresituations.Thepurposeofthistechnicalspecificationistodetermine,undercertainspecificexperimentalconditions,theopticaldensityofsmokeproducedbymaterialsexposedverticallytoaradiantheatsourcewithorwithouttheapplicationofapilotflameinaclosedchamber(i.e.withoutair-change).
